Dear Subscriber, As an economist and forecaster, people are constantly asking me how to prepare for the next economic collapse… where they should have their investments and perhaps even more importantly… where they shouldn’t. While occasional fluctuations and trends may make some corners of the market safer investments than others, the dollar is always a strong hedge. Right now, there is absolutely no evidence of an inflationary threat and absolutely nothing to indicate the dollar’s strong value will weaken and fall.  My answer to the latter question however will always stay the same… If you think gold will protect you during times of crisis, you’re in for a rough ride. Look no further than the last bubble burst in 2008 for hard evidence… the dollar was the safe bet, not gold. As if that wasn’t enough… the price of gold has been hovering right around $1,400/oz. for a few weeks now. That’s quite a high price tag for a commodity (not a currency) that has very little value in the way of providing financial security.
