CannaBiz Now!

Ever since Colorado and Washington legalized adult-use, support for cannabis legalization nationwide has skyrocketed.

Today, roughly 66% of Americans are in favor of marijuana legalization. And as each new state gives the green light for medical and recreational sales, the number of supporters ticks higher.

That means cannabis' approval rating is only going to increase in the months and years ahead.

Congress is finally taking notice, as we've seen on the legislative front. And at this point, pretty much every 2020 presidential candidate has given a thumbs-up to legalization.

So it seems more like a question of "when" than "if."

Though for some... time is a commodity they can't afford to waste.

At the very least, there has to be a rescheduling at the federal level so valuable medical research can be done. Because right now federal law considers cannabis more dangerous than cocaine.

In today's episode of CannaBiz Now! I talk with Director Abby Epstein (Emmy and Gracie Allen awards winner) and Executive Producer Ricki Lake (Emmy Award winner, actress and former talk show host).

Abby and Ricki have become champions for medical marijuana legalization. And their documentary Weed the People explores using cannabis as part of treating cancer in children.

They share how they got involved in this difficult project, as well as what they've learned along the way.

We talk about medical marijuana research being done here in the U.S. versus in other parts of the world. And we touch on the problems U.S. patients currently face.

Good investing,

Matthew

P.S. Abby and Ricki will be the keynote speakers at the Cannabis Science Conference next month in Baltimore, Maryland. For more information on the conference, click here.
