The president followed through on his threat to veto the annual defense spending bill, primarily because Congress refused to listen to previous demands he stated he wanted to see in the large bill.
One of Trump's primary demands for the bill is that he wanted it to contain language that would repeal Section 230 — a government gift for social media companies that allows them a level of protection afforded to virtually no other businesses in America.
Trump also called for Congress to remove language from the bill that would rename some of America's most storied and historic military bases.
