Now, let's dig in! Image Source: CNBC Black Friday shopping was no doubt very different this year, but some leaders say that certain changes may become more prominent features of the event going forward. For instance, some retailers may continue to offer earlier deals, like they did this year.
"We're seeing a fundamental change in the promotional calendar. I think the retailers have done a brilliant job extending the season, and that will play out as we go into next year," said a former Saks executive. "I think the retailers are going to try and play it both ways, where they continue the early promotions. And then with a big burst coming in at the Black Friday-Cyber Monday period."
But how will these same retailers ensure that they make money, when it is so much easier to cherry pick deals online? When consumers shop in stores, it's convenient to add full-price items to their shopping cart. How will retailers handle this?

The amended rule, published Friday in the Federal Register, allows the U.S. government to conduct executions by lethal injection or use "any other manner prescribed by the law of the state in which the sentence was imposed." A number of states allow other methods of execution, including electrocution, inhaling nitrogen gas or death by firing squad.
