General Electric's $1.45 billion cash acquisition of advanced surgical imaging company BK Medical announced last week would have been something out of the ordinary for GE a decade ago. These days, however, it's much more important. This deal is CEO Larry Culp's biggest acquisition, a leader noted for his ability to acquire businesses, and it should give shareholders certainty in the company's future
