As I'm sure you've heard, there are some CRAZY short squeezes happening in the markets right now...
Most notably, GameStop (NYSE: GME).
This was a $10 stock in December 2020.
And now - just over a month later - it's pushing $95 and above.
What on Earth is going on?
And why is a company that most consider the "Blockbuster of video games" now shooting to the moon? It comes down to two things...
First: Short Squeeze
As of December 31, 71 million GameStop shares were shorted. So when a shorted stock like this starts moving up, the shorts cover their positions, which "squeezes" the shares aggressively higher. Fundamentals don't matter - it's simply a supply and demand disequilibrium that triggers a massive upside move.
What causes this event to happen?
