Ten Republicans joined with the House Democrats to make history as they impeached Donald Trump for the second time. Trump is the first president to be impeached by Congress twice.
Unlike the first impeachment attempt, some Republicans actually supported the move. And that's why some would argue that this impeachment push actually has legitimacy.
But uncertainty remains over what would happen in the Senate during Trump's trial. While Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has hinted at his displeasure with Trump, he doesn't seem to be in a rush to start an impeachment trial.
Still, some GOP senators are considering a vote for conviction if the trial ever gets underway. And if that happens, Trump will again accomplish a first as the first president to be fully convicted during a Senate impeachment trial.
