Cruise ship stocks plummeted as COVID-19 took the world by storm and put an end to traveling to anywhere but the grocery store. But now, months after companies stopped and canceled trips, some cruise ships are setting sail again.

Royal Caribbean (NYSE: RCL) and MSC Cruises are having select ships resume sailing from locations in Europe and Southeast Asia. These cruises include new safety measures such as temperature checks and timed reservations in order to use facilities such as the gym and pool.

Look, there's no beating around the bush... 2020 has been apocalyptic for large swaths of the U.S. economy.

This year has been devastating for airlines, cruise ship operators, movie theaters and theme parks.

Most of the marquee names are in the red year to date. And many are still 25% below where they began 2020, let alone their 52-week highs.

But in this wreckage, I think there are some interesting and profitable opportunities for the long haul.
