By now, you've probably heard all about how Joseph Epstein set the publishing world on edge by suggesting in a Wall Street Journal opinion peace on Friday that Jill Biden (and everyone else) drop the Dr. from in front of her name.
Essentially, the premise behind the opinion piece was the the title of Dr. should be reserved for actual medical doctors to avoid potential confusion.
It has landed him in a ton of hot water and well within the radar of today's cancel culture.
And one of the publications yelling about it the loudest is the New York Times.
But you don't have to look very far back to see a time when they were very guilty of dropping the Dr. This time for someone who was a world-renowned neurosurgeon.
