But instead, she's been busy deleting more than a thousand of her tweets - because most of them were highly critical of the same people she needs to convince to rally behind her now.
She's been nominated to lead the federal Office of Management and Budget. "Can people on here please focus their ire on [Senate majority leader Mitch] McConnell and the GOP senators who are up [for re-election] this cycle who enable him," Tanden wrote in June 2019, in a tweet recovered by the Beast.

But sometimes, it sure feels that way, doesn't it?
196 years ago, right down to the day, there was another election deadlock, and this time is was turned over to the House of Representatives - just like the 12th Amendment dictates.
In the November 1824 election, 131 electoral votes (just over half of the 261 total) were needed for a candidate to become president.
It's also worth noting that it was the first time in history that the actual popular vote was even counted...
On December 1, the results were announced. Andrew Jackson was awarded 99 electoral votes. John Quincy Adams got 84. But here's what happened when the election headed to the House...
