Sustainable energy company Solena Group is bringing a hydrogen production facility to California. This will be the world's largest facility of its kind and will use plasma heating technology to turn recycled paper into hydrogen. Using heating technology to produce hydrogen will reduce carbon emissions and be less expensive than producing it through electrolysis.

The company hopes that hydrogen will eventually replace fossil fuels for power. It aims to sell what it produces at this plant to fueling stations for hydrogen-powered vehicles.

Solena Group plans to begin building the facility by next year and start producing hydrogen by 2022.
