| Hey Trader, I hope you’re having a great week! Markets have been looking strong as the country begins to get back to life as we once knew it… And for my family, things are getting back to normal in our personal lives, too. In fact, this past Sunday we had a group of friends over, and it made me realize just how powerful a strong sense of community is… And how much we really need it in our lives. See, we’re part of a small group of about 4 families that get together every Sunday. We all have kids, we all go to the same church… And our weekly get-togethers have been a standing tradition for a while now. Anyhow, this Sunday was great… We spent some time on the lake, and a few of our friends tried their hand at wakeboarding for the first time (both fun and wildly entertaining…). We ordered takeout. We relaxed in the hot tub. And as the sun went down, we gathered around the fire pit and talked, laughed and just enjoyed each others’ company. I can’t tell you how refreshing it was to feel that connection that you get when you spend time with people you care about… And who you know care about you. As we watched that fire burn and smelled the musky woodsmoke, we shared our thoughts… And we talked honestly about our struggles, our fears, our hopes and our dreams. Here’s the thing… Humans are social creatures. That’s why isolation is one of the most mentally damaging forms of punishment… And why solitary confinement often drives prisoners insane. The fact is we need social interaction in order to maintain our mental health… And psychologists have written volumes about the impact a sense of community has on our wellbeing. Of course, most of us are a part of multiple communities… From our immediate families, to our churches, our gyms, to our study circles and book clubs, the communities we belong to make us feel like we’re part of something greater than ourselves… And they help support us in our quest to be the best versions of ourselves. And honestly? That’s my goal for the Market Traders Daily community, too. We may not be able to hang out with each other in person, but we can help support one another… We can share our struggles, and celebrate our wins… And we can help each other become the best traders we possibly can be.
