Oil Remains Volatile and Creates Trading Opportunities
Volatility is an interesting concept for traders. Volatility is one of the factors that create trading opportunities and there could be more opportunities when trading is volatile than there is in calmer markets.
I'm seeing a lot of panicked traders now and for good reason, because we're not convinced the market turbulence will let up any time soon. Look, these past few months are enough to make anyone lose confidence. To be blunt, it's time to leave the markets behind. Your hard-earned money shouldn't be subject to the whims of the market. That's no way to trade and that's no way to live. But I've found a way to trade that bypasses all the noise and profits in any market condition. I lay it all out in my FREE Option Profit Accelerator e-book that you can download right now.
But volatility is synonymous with risk in the minds of many investors. That's because the two concepts are used almost interchangeably by many in the academic community which defines risk as the standard deviations of returns which is volatility. Many financial planners adopt this terminology.
Among the most volatile of markets is oil. In part that is because it is primarily traded in futures markets which are leveraged and inherently more volatile. Another reason is that so many weather-related factors and geopolitics can affect the price of oil.
We look at oil in our latest article, and we consider a trading opportunity that is available because the market is so volatile. But we limit risks with a strategy that defines risk in precise dollar terms. It is an options strategy with low risk and potentially high returns.
The strategy focuses on a stock with exposure to the oil market and the limits of production within the United States. It provides a high potential return of about 43% based on current market prices and will be open for just a short amount of time.
