Aug 3, 2021 Big Tech Update In quite the unconventional move, Google unveiled its newest smartphones months before they are expected to drop. Announcements like these usually happen closer to the release date of the devices and are part of a big launch event, which is why consumers and industry experts were stunned with the big reveal on Monday.
The announcement unveiled some pretty big details about the upcoming Google Pixel 6 and 6 Pro. As expected, the phones have some new features and updates, but a radical new design seemed to catch most people off guard. As part of the new design, the phones will be available in several colors, including a few new pastel options. The new phones are 5G and will be powered by a chip that Google created in-house, which is a first for the company.
The new devices also feature a very noticeable black camera strip that houses the new camera set up. Both the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro have a new camera sensor that allows 150% more light in than the Pixel 5. Both phones also feature an ultrawide lens, while the 6 Pro includes a telephoto lens.
