Back in 1999, I got some advice I didn't want. He was a Vice President at Bear Stearns. He was blunt and kind of rude and told me what I didn't want to hear. "Currencies are too risky. Don't trade 'em." He continued: "It's like trying to ride a dragon." Then he pushed back from his desk and walked out of the room. I didn't have anywhere else to turn. I was determined and stubborn and maybe a little bit crazy. So I traded currencies anyway. And that's where I made my first millions. Read it again: I made my first millions by doing something that a really tough, smart, blunt, rude guy at a Wall Street bank told me EXPLICITLY not to do. By the way, that bank failed. So much for Wall Street professionals knowing more than you and I. |
