2020 was supposed to be the year of nickel's rebound. Some forecasts had the industrial metal surging as much as 20% to $16,375 per metric ton. But as is so often the case with nickel, that optimism - and rocketing price - is easily undone. That is, until Tesla CEO Elon Musk promised a "giant contract" to nickel miners that are efficient and environmentally conscious.
