| | Tuesday, February 25, 2020 | | | Dear Startup Investor,
After two full days back at home, I'm finally jet lag-free.
See, I just got back from the Angels & Entrepreneurs Retreat. The research team and I spent three days straight on the clock, with barely enough time to eat or sleep. I'm talking 16 hour workdays, plus countless hours spent navigating through airports.
It was incredibly tough work... but it was also one of the most fun, rewarding, and inspiring weekends any of us have ever lived through.
If you're not familiar with the Retreat, I'll take a quick moment to explain. The Angels & Entrepreneurs Retreat is an annual gathering of hundreds of angel investors, startup founders, crowdfunding experts, CEOs and other visionaries from the startup world. This year was the first Retreat ever - and I'm happy to say that it was a smashing success. We already have so many ideas about how to make next year's event even better... so stay tuned.
That's a long way off, so in the meantime, I wanted to tell you about one of the most engaging sessions we had last weekend.
It was essentially a fireside chat between myself and Howard - the founder of an absolutely incredible startup.
I've known Howard for about a year, but I've known of him for closer to 20. I've always been extremely passionate about entrepreneurship... and, well, Howard is one of the greatest tech entrepreneurs of all time.
Back in the late '70s, Howard co-founded a startup that eventually reached a valuation of 10,000 times the value it started at. That means his earliest investors could have become a millionaire for every $100 they invested.
You already know that I believe in backing the jockey, not the horse. And a founder who's managed to steer a tiny company to a global goliath in the past is one that I'm bound to be interested in.
I already knew all that going into the weekend. But some of the things Howard said during our chat were so incredible - he had me completely sold on his new venture. I think by the end of his segment, I was nearly as excited as he was.
If you didn't make it to the Retreat this year, that doesn't mean you can't still learn about some of the world-changing deal opportunities we talked about there. You absolutely can - so just click here to learn more.
I'll be back soon with more updates.
Until next time,
